Astral projection is the leaving of your astral (or sometimes called your ethereal, non-physical, spiritual, or energetic) body and floating it to an alternative realm. This can happen when you sleep, and meditate and it can also happen whilst you are fully awake, although this is extremely rare. Whilst astral projecting you are not conscious in the same way that consciousness is observed whilst you are awake. In retrospect, you can recognise the astral projection activity, although whilst you are doing it, it is not something you know you are doing. It’s just like walking. We do it without conscious awareness. The sensation is one of flying and floating. The body is very light and whilst astral projecting you can fly and instantaneously move from one place to another.
It’s the natural behaviour of the non-physical and human beings. We are spiritual beings and as such we are able to astral project at times when there is less resistance and we are not weighed down by the physical body. It is difficult to control where and what you do whilst astral projection – although it is possible. When we sleep each night our spirits leave our bodies and we are able to visit other planes of existence which include dimensions, planets, and earthly places. It’s also an opportunity for those who have transitioned to connect with us, whilst we are non-physical.
Lucid dreaming is knowing that you are dreaming whilst asleep. You realise that you are dreaming and perceive yourself in the dream. You may even say in your dream that you know that it is just a dream. Some people try to have control over their level of lucidity and dreams whilst they are dreaming and there are several techniques for doing this.
Lucid dreaming is a surreal experience, that in many ways shows the sleeper that there is far more to sleeping and dreaming than we currently understand. We all have the potential to control our level of lucidity and have a level of awareness during our dream state.
Astral projection and lucid dreaming are naturally occurring events that have been experienced by many people without any effort. This is to be expected, considering our spiritual nature. They also occur during the sleep paralysis experience with it being clearly remembered upon awakening.
