I am a night worker. My best work is completed during the night. It’s as though I come alive after 1 am. My thoughts are clearer, work flows effortlessly and I feel as though I can work on anything when I am in that zone.
I’m a firm believer in listening to your body and what it is telling you. If it feels better to work in the middle of the night then do it. Why constrict your body, by trying to fit into a routine or regiment that has been dictated by someone else.
Of course, it can be problematic if you have other responsibilities that mean that you can not catch up with sleep, which can create tiredness and a change in your sleep routine, but when managed appropriately, it can be perfectly healthy and productive.
The wider issues are the rules that constrain us a worldwide society. That expect us to conform to the rules which we did not create. If it feels good, go with the flow of the energy and listen to what your body is telling you.
