Signs that you’re meditating properly can be noticed during the meditative process and after.
During meditation, the optimal state is the feeling of being bodiless. A total lack of awareness of your physical body or environment. The feeling is pleasant in retrospect with there is no sense of time, feelings or emotions. Time is motionless, with total stillness in that moment. All thought is now non-existent as you have risen above your thoughts. They are still taking place, but you are no longer aware of them. If you are listening to guided meditation or have a timer on, you will be surprised that the meditation time has passed so quickly as time seems to have stood still. Feeling refreshed and filled with energy is experienced after reaching this state.
Directly after the meditation, if the heightened state outlined above is reached, you will be feeling rejuvenated. If the higher state was not reached, you will feel as though you had a short rest and nothing more. It is important to note that you should not feel as though nothing happened spiritually. You slowed down and allowed your vibration to rise. The result of this is feeling more calm and relaxed throughout the day. You will be less responsive to irritants and feel far more in control of your emotions. There will have more clarity and judgement and you will feel more energetic. You will be more thoughtful and in tune with your intuition which will guide you. After a few weeks, You will notice changes in your behaviour as you begin to look forward to meditation, as it relaxes you and places you in a mental and physical place to control your environment, rather than be a recipient of whatever is going on.
