If by the ‘Holy Spirit’ you are referring to the Creator, The One, The Universe, God, The Supreme Being (and there are many more names to which this omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscience energy is known), then the answer is neither.
The ‘Holy Spirit’ is not faith-based or aligned with a particular religion. Religions present a script, a set of rules, do’s and don’t, which the ‘Spirit’ surpasses and is not constrained by.
It is not something in your heart that makes you want to do what’s right. The ultimate goal of the Spirit is the development of love for self and for others. The ‘Holy Spirit’ surpasses doing what is right or wrong. Doing what’s right is a judgment statement. It is determined by the perception of the doer and the person who sees the action. What is right for one person, may not be right for another. Therefore the spiritual approach is based on what is right for the individual who is the physical representation of spirit striving to reach the state of perfect love.
